CHRISTINA HOOVER, OWNER

Christina began her grooming career in 2007, landing a position for a corporately owned grooming salon where she quickly realized that pets were her passion. She then completed an All-Breed Dog Grooming course at Tolles Career and Technical Center located in Plain City, Ohio. After completing her certification in November of 2007, she accepted a position as head groomer with a Columbus doggy daycare. She has since earned an Associates Degree of Arts at Columbus State Community College in 2010 followed by a Bachelor's Degree in Science from Franklin University in 2013. At Franklin University Christina studied Business Management and Organizational Leadership where she was placed on the Dean's and President's List every trimester. In order to utilize her business education, grooming experience and her love for animals, Christina decided to own and operate a grooming business; which started from her home. After her clientele exceeded 300 furry faces, she decided to relocate to a storefront property in Downtown Grove City, OH, which is where the dream of the Dawg Shoppe became a reality.


ASHLEE TULLIS-DEWITT

Ashlee has been grooming pets since September 2008, but that wasn't where her love of hair and her passion for styling began. In 2006, Ashlee graduated with a Managing Cosmetology License from the Spa School in Columbus, Ohio. After a year of working as a hair stylist, she knew something was missing. That's when pet grooming became her life. To combine her love and creativity of styling and the passion for animals was simply a dream come true. She received her Professional Pet Styling Certificate through Penn Foster Digital Academy. For the past 5 1/2 years she has held a position as a pet stylist and manager at a corporate grooming chain. This experience has allowed her to increase her skills in hand scissoring, AKC standard trims, and mixed breed creative cuts. Ashlee is more than happy to accommodate any special requests as well as answer any questions you may have. Ashlee believes that a relationship between your pet and their groomer is very important. What sets Ashlee apart from other groomers is her patience and ability to stay clam during stressfully situations. Ashlee is very excited to meet all of our furry friends and is looking forward to establishing life long relationships


MINDY LEONARD

Mindy has been a resident of Grove City for many years and was quite thrilled when the opportunity arose for her to service our community. Mindy has been grooming since June of 2008 and she wouldn't change it for the world. She received her training through a nationally known, corporate grooming chain and pet retail store. Including her training which consisted of hand scissoring techniques, AKC standard pet trims, and mixed breed creative cuts, she also became Safety Certified. This certification increased her knowledge of equipment and the proper technique when using such equipment on pets. Her Safety Certification also taught her proper handling techniques and ways to help create a stress free environment for all pups under her care. She has great compassion and love for animals, they all just melt her heart. She is very calm, patient, and super loving when it comes to handling the pups. She believes dogs feed off your energy, and staying calm can help ease them if their nervous or scared. All dogs deserve a chance and she is more than willing to groom any dog, no matter the breed or temperament . HEATHER SCHWARZBEK

Heather Grew up in Hilliard, Ohio, and was looking for a full time job when she stumbled upon a "Now Hiring" sign at a local, corporate, grooming salon. It wasn't long before she landed the job as a professional bather. It didn't take much time for Heather to realize how much passion she had for the job and was excited when her employer offered her the chance to attend a Grooming Academy. Her training included: AKC breed trims, mixed breed trims, handling skills, and safety certification. She has worked as a professional pet stylist for the last eight years and couldn't imagine doing anything else! At home she loves to spoil her two dogs, Charlie a Shiba-Inu and Peggy a Shar-Pei. She also adores her three legged cat, named mealworm, and her bearded dragon. The Dawg Shoppe couldn't be more fortunate to add such a caring and passionate groomer to the salon team.


MICHELLE CREAGER

Michelle grew up in Windsor, Ct and moved to Columbus, Ohio in 2004. She currently lives in Westerville and loves her two dogs Maya and Cão. She developed her love of dogs through her membership in a 4-H Club that focused on Showmanship, Obedience and Comfort Dog Training. She began her grooming career in 2005 where she completed her formal training at a national corporate Grooming Academy where her training included AKC breeds, mixed breeds and safety skills. Michelle truly enjoys making every dog beautiful and happy as they deserve to be! I look forward to meeting you and your fur baby! 


DANA WOOD

Dana grew up and still resides in Circleville, Ohio, with her husband and two boys.  After graduating from Westfall High School she attended Nationwide Beauty Academy and landed her first hairstylist job in 2006. Dana had thought that she had found the career of her dreams.  After a couple of years she felt something was missing and came across a well known corporate pet store that was looking for potential pet stylists. So she left the people world of hair and leaped into the grooming industry, as a bather. In 2009, shortly after starting this position, she was offered the chance to go through the corporation’s pet grooming academy. She jumped on the opportunity! Finally, a career that combined two of her favorite things; being able to express creativity through hair AND animals. While attending the academy, she learned AKC trims along with different hand scissoring techniques and pet safety training. After working with the corporate store for a few years, she ran into a former co worker and friend, that told her about The Dawg Shoppe, and the rest is history!  Dana loves grooming pets of all shapes and sizes and enjoys meeting new pets everyday.  She believes every pet deserves to feel pampered and has enjoyed grooming pets over the last 7 years. In her spare time she loves spending time with her family and their "mini farm".  Along with Dana's 3 fur babies at home, Ruger, Remy and Titus, she also has her mini pigs that she enjoys spending time with as well.  Dana would love to meet you and your pup.
